“Freddie Gibbs Fires Back at Akademiks Regarding Rape Allegations: ‘I’ma Come to Court & Slap You'”

Freddie Gibbs quickly became aware of the rape allegations against Akademiks and didn’t hesitate to mock his long-time adversary. On Saturday (December 30), Ak’s ex-girlfriend, Ziya Abashae, made disturbing claims on Instagram Live, accusing the media personality and two friends of sexually assaulting her.

In her statement, Abashae asserted, “You tried to save yourself after your friends assaulted me. Whether or not you got drunk or not, I know that when you woke up, you were on top of me too. You raped me too.” She also mentioned that a rape kit had been conducted following the alleged incident. In contrast, Akademiks had earlier asserted that the encounter was consensual, framing it as an orgy involving his ex and friends.

Gibbs, reacting to the unfolding drama, took to social media on Sunday (December 31) to taunt the typically outspoken Akademiks for his conspicuous silence on the serious allegations. He posted, “@Akademiks quiet as a church mouse today happy new year U rapist ass bitch. Hoe ass n-gga I’mma come to court and slap U.” Gibbs further heightened the mockery by sharing a video of himself enjoying a cigar and hearty laughter as he welcomed the New Year.

The feud between the two dates back to 2020 when Akademiks was co-hosting the show “Everyday Struggle,” and it has flared up multiple times since. Their most recent exchange occurred last summer when Gibbs highlighted Ak’s struggles to draw a crowd during his live podcast at the 2023 Roots Picnic. In retaliation, Akademiks promoted a T-shirt mocking Gibbs and his alleged sexual preferences, referring to him as “Spreadie Gibbs” and featuring a questionable screenshot. This online clash intensified following claims by Gibbs’ ex-girlfriend, adult film star Destiny Fox, who alleged that Gibbs ghosted her when she became pregnant, sharing explicit content in retaliation.
