“NBA YoungBoy Clarifies Drug Use Misconceptions Post-Rehab”

NBA YoungBoy recently addressed misconceptions surrounding his lifestyle, specifically related to drug use, in a recent interview with Bootleg Kev on Thursday, December 28. The Louisiana native opened up about his experiences under house arrest at his Utah residence, awaiting his federal gun trial scheduled for July 2024.

During the conversation with the Los Angeles-based DJ, YoungBoy discussed his efforts to redefine himself and expressed concerns about potential misinterpretations by his fans. Despite a recent weekend stint in rehab, he shared the ongoing perception that he heavily indulges in drugs, leading him to opt for therapy.

YoungBoy also mentioned his involvement in “rich sipping” and smoking unpleasant cigarettes, expressing a genuine desire to quit. Last month, YoungBoy filed court documents highlighting the toll of house arrest on his mental health, resulting in a depressive state. Judge Shelly D. Dick subsequently approved a modification, restricting him to 24-hour daily lockdown, with exceptions for medical appointments and court appearances.

The amendment allows YoungBoy to leave his Utah estate for approved doctor appointments, but the judge denied travel outside Utah for work-related duties, as requested by the rapper’s team. Federal prosecutors initially opposed any travel, questioning the necessity given his current pre-trial release conditions.

Assistant U.S. Attorney William K. Morris argued against travel, stating that the existing conditions did not prohibit YoungBoy from seeking mental health treatment. The rapper will continue to adhere to strict house arrest regulations, in place since 2021, until the trial concludes.
