About

Xavier “Big X” Hargrove, a pivotal figure in Atlanta’s music scene for over 30 years, has successfully navigated traditional and contemporary elements. From his early days as a party starter in Atlanta’s nightlife to shaping the “DARP Sound” with Dallas Austin, he has left an indelible mark on the industry.

Transitioning into television with “Dirty Television” on UPN and later serving as an A&R consultant for Rowdy/Universal Records, Big X continued his entrepreneurial journey. In 2008, he co-founded the Coalition DJs, a network of 250+ DJs that has broken records and launched careers, earning recognition from the Wall Street Journal.

His forward-thinking approach led to the creation of New Music Monday, providing a platform for emerging artists, and the DJ Power Summit ATL in 2020. Big X also curates the We Outside podcast, focusing on new music and current affairs.

Beyond his industry impact, Big X is dedicated to philanthropy, leading the Hargrove Foundation for troubled teens and the Young Urban Programmers for youth education in technology. As his legacy continues to unfold, Big X remains at the forefront of music innovation and community empowerment.
